At dusk, a local handicraft market sets up along the town’s main street, selling gorgeous handmade wares. Climb the handsome, naga-lined steps to the top of Mount Phousi and gets a birds eye view of Luang Prabang’s glittering temple spires. Hop on a long-tail boat and cruise up the Mekong, stopping in at small artisan villages that have been handcrafting pottery, s and local ‘Lao Lao’ whiskey for generations. The Nam Khan’s sandy banks are ideal for beachcombing or paddling down in a kayak.
